Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 18 (ANI): BJP National President JP Nadda on Monday took a jibe at the Maha Vikas Aghadi, accusing them of doing “appeasement politics” and providing reservation on the basis of religion if they came to power in the upcoming assembly polls in Maharashtra.
While speaking to ANI following his public address in Navi Mumbai, Nadda targeted the MVA coalition for promoting divisive politics and being primarily focused on gaining power.
The BJP leader contrasted the MVA’s approach with that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance model, emphasising the principles of unity and inclusive development.
“As far as Maha Vikas Aghadi is concerned, they have no issues. They are just eager to come to power. They form all their schemes for that. They have divided people. Those who do not believe in the Constitution of Babasaheb Ambedkar, those who do appeasement politics, and those who speak about reservation on the basis of religion–they divide people. PM Modi’s mantra is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” Nadda said.
He further spoke about the increasing support for the Mahayuti alliance across Maharashtra during the election, stating that the people of the state are ready to support the alliance for its focus on development and a better future.
The BJP leader pointed out that the people of Maharashtra have recognized that only the Mahayuti would be able to meet their expectations for progress.
“In all the regions (of Maharashtra), I see a wave of Mahayuti. People have created an atmosphere to support Mahayuti for development, continuity, and a bright future. I can see that they are eager to support us. I would also like to say that the people of Maharashtra have identified that only the Mahayuti would be successful in fulfilling their desire for development. So, everyone has decided to support Mahayuti,” he added.
Earlier, Nadda slammed the Congress party and its allies in the upcoming Maharashtra polls, accusing them of not providing any “report card” while they were in power.
Addressing a public rally in Navi Mumbai, Nadda said that the Mahayuti and the NDA were practising a “politics of report card,” asserting that they had done what they promised and even accomplished things they hadn’t committed to.
Campaigning for the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra has intensified, with both the ruling Mahayuti and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) making efforts to win over voters. The polls are scheduled for November 20, with counting to take place on November 23. (ANI)
