Dehradun (UttaraKhand) [India], September 28 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the website of Pravasi Uttarakhand Cell at the Secretariat on Saturday, said an official statement.
The website of Pravasi Uttarakhand Cell has been prepared through ITDA. Through the website, information about various policies, programs and activities of the state government will be provided to the migrants.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to organise a grand conference by inviting migrants living in different states of the country in Dehradun on the occasion of the proposed Pravasi Uttarakhand Day on 7 November 2024. He said that everyone has a connection with their motherland.
The effort of the state government is to take the cooperation of the migrants of Uttarakhand for the development of the state and to provide them all possible support to connect with their motherland, the release said. He said that the migrants of our Uttarakhand have made their own identity on the strength of their work in the country and the world.
He said that we should have regular contact with all the people of Uttarakhand living in the country and the world. Our effort is to be a partner in every happiness and sorrow.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to invite the migrant Uttarakhandis living abroad and organise a big conference in the state soon. The database of all the migrant Uttarakhandis living abroad should be kept updated.
CM said that the way our migrant brothers and sisters are welcomed grandly during foreign trips clearly reflects their attachment to their ancestral land and their connection with their culture.
The Migrant Uttarakhand Cell has been established in the state with the objective of making the state government reach out to the Uttarakhandi migrants residing in different countries and different states of India from the state of Uttarakhand and to connect the migrant Uttarakhandis with their motherland, to take advantage of their expertise, experience and financial capabilities in the development of the state and to honour the migrants with notable achievements.
For the convenience of the migrants living abroad, links to the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India and its important schemes have also been given on the website. The cell has collected contact details of migrant organisations and eminent migrants working within the country and abroad from various sources. Till now, contact has been established with migrant Uttarakhandis living in 18 countries. (ANI)
