Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 24 (ANI): Stating that the atmosphere is “euphoric,” Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi on Thursday claimed Aaditya Thackeray will win the second term with a “historic margin” as he filed his nomination from Worli for the Maharashtra assembly polls.
Thackeray is an incumbent MLA from the Worli legislative assembly constituency and former guardian minister of the Mumbai suburban district.
“The atmosphere is very festive. It is euphoric. He (Aaditya Thackeray) will win the second term with a historic margin. Last time he won, he got over 70,000 votes. This time he will cross that number as well,” said Chaturvedi who accompanied Thackeray on a roadshow.
Chaturvedi lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that only “lies” are being spread about the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance and people will remember the use of enforcement directorate (ED) and other central investigative agencies against the opposition.
“In these five years, Maharashtra has seen the worst kind of politics, where ED, CBI, IT, and everything was used (against opposition). Maharashtra State Treasury has been looted. Only lies are being spread. Two political parties have been broken. So, all of that is in the minds of people. The people had voted for Maha Vikas Aghadi in Lok Sabha, I continue to say that this is the trailer, and the blockbuster movie of Maha Vikas will be released, produced by the people of Maharashtra and the will of Maharashtra and we will form the Government after 23rd November,” the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader said.
Chaturvedi further claimed that only two people control and make decisions for Maharashtra. “The sad reality is that every decision related to Maharashtra is being taken by two people – Narendra Modi and Amit Shah,” she said.
“Can you tell me how many seats is the BJP fighting on in Maharashtra? How many seats Eknath Shinde is fighting on? They are all busy in Delhi getting the seats out. This is a sad reality today that every decision about Maharashtra is being taken by two people – Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Before they point a finger at us, they must remember four fingers are pointing back at them. We (MVA) had a press conference and gave you the entire scenario of how we are contesting,” Chaturvedi said.
Meanwhile, Aaditya Thackeray filed his nomination from the Worli assembly constituency on Thursday and held a roadshow where he said that he feels confident about winning the election for the second time and forming the government in Maharashtra.
“I am confident that people will bless me because we are about to form a government in Maharashtra. As you can see, this atmosphere is very good, you can see the love people are giving me,” Thackeray said.
The nomination process for the 288 seats in the assembly has started and the polling will happen on November 20 with the results to be declared on November 23.
In the 2019 assembly elections in Maharashtra, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress won 44 seats. (ANI)
