Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], October 21 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Monday strongly condemned the Gagangir terror attack, saying that ‘no words are strong enough’ to condemn it.
Speaking to ANI, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister said, “No words are strong enough to condemn the attack. I will pray to god to give strength to the families of the victims to bear the loss… It will take time but the situation will be improved… The LG and CM have given their statements and the DGP of J-K is investigating the matter.”
Jammu and Kashmir Minister Satish Sharma also condemned the attack and said that our paramilitary forces are highly capable of giving the terrorists a fitting reply.
“I condemn this attack and we share the grief with the families of the victims. This was somewhere expected given the excellent election process seen here and the mandate given to Omar Abdullah. The handlers can be local as well as international… I am sure Omar Abdullah will do something for the victims’ families. I want the powers, whoever they are, to be alert. Our army and paramilitary forces are extremely capable of giving them a befitting reply,” Sharma told ANI.
Two labourers were killed in a terror attack in Gagangir area of Jammu and Kashmir’s (J-K) Ganderbal district on Sunday evening, officials said.
Security forces have cordoned off the area in Gaganger, Sonamarg, Ganderbal after terror attack. Authorities have launched a search operation to neutralise the attackers and ensure the security of the area.
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the heinous terrorist attack on civilians in Gagangeer and said that those behind this despicable act will not go unpunished.
“I strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack on civilians in Gagangeer. I assure the people that those behind this despicable act will not go unpunished. We have given full freedom to J&K Police, Army and Security forces,” the Office of LG J-K said on X on Sunday.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack, calling it a “dastardly and cowardly” attack on non-local labourers.
“Very sad news of a dastardly and cowardly attack on non-local labourers at Gagangir in Sonamarg region. These people were working on a key infrastructure project in the area. 2 have been killed and 2-3 more have been injured in this militant attack. I strongly condemn this attack on unarmed innocent people and send my condolences to their loved ones,” Omar wrote on X on Sunday.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi strongly condemned the attack, saying that killing innocent civilians and spreading terror is a crime against humanity.
“The killing of six civilians including five labourers in a cowardly terrorist attack in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir is highly condemnable. Acts like killing innocent civilians and spreading violence and terror among the general public are crimes against humanity. The whole country is united against this. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families and I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured,” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on X on Sunday. (ANI)
