New Delhi [India], September 17 (ANI): Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Tuesday lauded work of student artists at a workshop on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat’ with the participants putting colours to their imagination for a developed India.
A large number of student artists and artists attended the event, which was organised by National Gallery of Modern Art in collaboration with the Lalit Kala Akademi.
Artists depicted the progress and development of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Shekhawat appreciated the artists for showcasing the aspirations of people for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ on canvas.
“The occasion of PM Narendra Modi’s birthday, the whole nation celebrates it as a week of dedication to service and cleanliness. The National Gallery of Modern Art has invited artists from across the country to come and express their thoughts through colours on the same. We expected 600 participants but more than 1,800 came,” he said.
A group of women artists from a private university depicted women’s empowerment and various welfare schemes run by the government for women. Artists used different mediums for their expression including acrylic paint and oil.
Aryan Pawar, a student of Jamia Milia Islamia, said they were excited about the Viksit Bharat theme.
“PM Narendra Modi is working hard to make our nation developed. This is why I am making a portrait of PM Modi.”
Another student artist, Kusum, who studies in a college in Gurugram, said that it was a great honour to be the part of this event. Her painting had Chandrayaan with PM Modi in the background.
Sneha, who arrived from a Noida-based universtiy, said she has drawn PM Modi as Bahubali of India. “The way he is working is not less than Bahubali,” she said.
Shekhawat also inaugurated “Kala Karma’ exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art. The event was held on ‘Vishwakarma Puja’ day.
