Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], September 5 (ANI): Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel honoured 28 state teachers with the ‘Best Teacher Award’ during a grand ceremony organized by the Education Department at Tagore Hall in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
Governor Devvrat stated that the impact of a teacher is unparalleled and that there is no nobler act than education. He noted that it is the teacher’s role to shape exceptional people, declaring that teachers are vital in building nations, societies, and families and that the foundation of happiness and peace depends on them.
Additionally, certificates were presented to 10 students who benefited from the Mukhyamantri Gyan Sadhana Scholarship and the Mukhyamantri Gyan Setu Merit Scholarship.
Recognising that even the youngest children have a great capacity for understanding, the Governor encouraged teachers to ignite their students’ potential, helping them to overcome ignorance and embrace their significant responsibilities.
“As the Prime Minister works towards building an ‘Atmanirbhar’ and ‘Viksit Bharat,’ if educators commit to the mission of shaping the best people, India can achieve its goal of becoming a Vishva Guru,” he said.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized the crucial role these teachers play in aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision that the 21st century will be shaped by knowledge, with India leading the charge.
CM Patel stated that a truly impactful teacher not only imparts knowledge but also inspires students to unlock their full potential. Given that children spend substantial time with their teachers, it is essential for teachers to address their curiosity and support their development.
“A teacher never retires; the passion for teaching remains ever-active,” he added, advocating for a lifelong commitment to the profession.
The Chief Minister spoke about Gujarat’s pivotal role in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi,’ by integrating the heritage of ancient universities like Vallabhi, Takshashila, and Nalanda with contemporary advancements such as Artificial Intelligence and Google.
He referred to the National Education Policy (NEP), developed under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a crucial factor in building Viksit Bharat. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of the teaching community in advancing educational initiatives such as Kanya Kelvani Abhiyan, Shala Praveshotsav, Mission Schools of Excellence, and Teachers University in Gujarat, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision.
Education Minister Dr. Kuber Dindor, while welcoming the state’s prominent teachers, remarked that teachers are society’s greatest asset. He noted that Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, honoured on Teachers’ Day, was a teacher before becoming the President of India. (ANI)
